Online Event: Courgette and Lemon Drizzle (Kids and Teenagers)

Join Becca for this delicious and simple to follow online workshop, aimed at children and teenagers but anyone keen to learn can join!

As the session is an interactive class Becca will be able to see all participants and answer questions as they arise or offer guidance on how to correct anything that might go awry.

In this class we will be making a fantastic lemon drizzle cake with a twist, using courgettes to give it pretty green flecks and make it beautifully moist, but you don’t taste them at all. Is there a better way to get kids loving veg than putting it in cakes?

These online sessions are aimed at children working themselves, however, we do ask for an adult to be in the room and on hand to monitor any parts which might require supervision, depending on the age of the participant.

Instructions

Ingredients needed:

  • 100g ground almonds
  • 100g caster sugar
  • 100g butter
  • 150g plain flour
  • 100g courgette, grated
  • 1tsp baking powder
  • 1tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 large eggs
  • 70ml natural yoghurt
  • 1 lemon

Optional (if you want to make the drizzle)

  • Icing sugar
    Juice of one lemon half

Equipment needed:

  • Scales to weigh out ingredients
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Spoon to mix
  • Teaspoon measure
  • Paper towl or clean tea towel (to squeeze courgette in)
  • Grater
  • Zester
  • Knife to cut the lemon
  • Cake or Loaf tin
  • Mixing bowl for drizzle if using
